I expected to be caught up in Kenan’s enthusiasm for basketball, but I was pleasantly surprised to be so absorbed in the fashion industry. However, what’s most appealing about this couple-and the story-is the way in which they patiently and selflessly help each other heal deep wounds. Who am I kidding? These two can burn the bedroom down. There is a definite sizzle between Lotus and Kenan. The story started off slow for me, and I was a good quarter of the way into the book before I became hooked. She carries around her own set of heavy baggage, though. She is a breath of fresh air, always oozing confidence and charm. Lotus is Kenan’s opposite in almost every way: young, outgoing, and alluring. I think single fathers are super sexy, and Kenan’s devotion to his fourteen-year-old daughter is one of his most attractive traits. He is also knee-deep in the middle of family drama. He is introverted, disciplined, and restrained. Kenan is an aging NBA star who is still very much at the top of his game.
With Hook Shot, she uses the backdrop of professional basketball once again to deliver another heartfelt romance.
